Interior Head Jamb (Stain Grade Poplar)

Stain grade head jamb for interior doors. Solid poplar in double rabbeted construction means the stop is built into the jamb (rather than applied separately), providing unparalleled durability, stability, and ease of installation.

Width:

• Single doors – add 3/16″ (.1875″) to door slab actual width: available in sizes to fit single doors 12″ to 42″ in width
• To ensure smooth operation, we recommend 1/16″ space on the hinge side and 1/8″ (2/16″) space on the strike or lock side for a total of 3/16 or .1875″ larger than actual width of door slab
• Since interior doors often measure the full nominal width, for example a 3/0 or 36″ door will measure a full 36.0″, we send our head jambs with sufficient length to work for these full-width doors
• Double doors – add 5/16″ (.3125″) to combined width of door slabs: available in sizes to fit double doors 12″ to 36″ in width
• To ensure smooth operation, we recommend 1/16″ space on each hinge side and 3/16″ space where the double doors meet for a total of 5/16 or .3125″ larger than the combined actual width of the door slabs
• Since interior doors often measure the full nominal width, for example a 3/0 or 36″ door will measure a full 36.0″, we send our head jambs with sufficient length to work for these full-width doors
• If you are unsure what width jamb you need, please purchase one with some extra width and trim on job site (we recommend a box saw or miter saw to ensure a straight cut)
